nutshell
My name is Arianna. I was born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Canada, which means I am both overly laid back and overly Asian. I am a law student currently pursuing a J.D. with lofty ambitions to become the first lawyer to ever quote The Simpsons before the Supreme Court of Canada.

The following are a few of my favourite things.

food
The world would be a sad, dull place without good food and drink. The world would also cease to exist without food and drink, but that’s beside the point.

Dim Sum A&W Root Beer, cheese pizza, chicken with bernaise sauce, chopped scallop cone, cream soda, dim sum, earl grey tea, fried rice noodle with beef, guava juice, honey green milk tea, mango, mashed potatoes, McDonald’s french fries, oyster motoyaki, pho, salmon, sashimi, steak, and Vanilla Coke.

music
Because of our need to find some hipster, indie band struggling for their art and to tell everyone we know about them so that we can claim we discovered them after they sort of hit it big, I mainly listen to sappy FM shit.

Pinkerton, Weezer Alicia Keys, Bloc Party, Bon Jovi, Christina Aguilera, Coldplay, The Cranberries, Dashboard Confessional, Death Cab for Cutie, Incubus, Jewel, Justin Timberlake, Keane, Lauryn Hill, Lifehouse, Lisa Loeb, Maroon 5, Metric, Radiohead, Sam Roberts, Sia, Tegan and Sara, Weezer, and The White Stripes.

books
On the odd occasion when I find the time and/or feel quite brainy, I will pick up a book. In most instances, I get through about 75 pages, grow bored, and return the book to the library. In the rare case where I immensely enjoy a book, I get through its entirety and finally purchase a copy of my own—provided it has a nice cover.

The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay (Michael Chabon), Atonement (Ian McEwan), Girl With a Pearl Earring (Tracy Chevalier), Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (J.K. Rowling), His Dark Materials (Philip Pullman), Me Talk Pretty One Day (David Sedaris), and Tuck Everlasting (Natalie Babbitt).

television
Having had parents with no time to entertain me in my youth, I now consider myself a child of the idiot-box. Breastfeeding was a bitch.

Felicity 30 Rock, Arrested Development, Big Love, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Californication, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Dexter, Felicity, Extras, Gossip Girl, Heroes, House, How I Met Your Mother, Lost, Mad Men, The Office (BBC), Sex and the City, Six Feet Under, The Sopranos, Veronica Mars, and The X-Files.

movies
If you’re anything like me, you know how great it feels to lose yourself in a movie every now and then. You also fancy yourself an amateur film critic and write reviews that real film experts would probably print from the internet to use as toilet paper.

American Beauty Amélie, American Beauty, Bridget Jones’s Diary, Brokeback Mountain, Clueless, Jurassic Park, L.A. Confidential, Meet the Parents, Moulin Rouge, Pride & Prejudice, Ocean’s Eleven, Office Space, Schindler’s List, Se7en, The Sixth Sense, Snatch, Swingers, There’s Something About Mary, and The Usual Suspects.

actors
I am not easily impressed with many of the actors in Hollywood, mostly because I have no authority to gauge true acting ability. But I admire certain actors all the same because celebrities are just so much hotter than us regular ugmos.

Christian Bale Alison Lohman, Christian Bale, Colin Firth, Edward Norton, David Duchovny, Hugh Laurie, Jake Gyllenhaal, James Dean, Joaquin Phoenix, Liam Neeson, Natalie Portman, Natalie Wood, Ralph Fiennes, Ricky Gervais, Ron Livingston, Sarah Jessica Parker, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Tom Hanks.
