i got through my season premieres for today: gilmore girls, buffy the vampire slayer, and smallville.
i was satisfied with the lot, i suppose. though, i am pretty disappointed that the chloe and clark relationship doesn’t seem to be progressing in smallville. i hate it when the wonderfully imperfect and sardonically witty female character is recklessly tossed aside for the beautifully immaculate bombshell, the girl who is too goddamn likable to not like. i also have something against kristin kreuk’s oh-so monotonous and mindless acting, but it’s best not to get into that right now.
buffy was, well, … confusing. the ending threw me off a bit, too. however, spike was sporting a flattering new hair-do, so the premiere did have some redeeming qualities. the way joss brought back the little- and big-bads at the final moment was pretty interesting, though.
september brings back all of these shows for me, and once again i am able to live vicariously through all of their complex storylines and remarkable lives. because, as you know, my own is anything but super.
addendum: friends is on tonight! more telly-madness pour moi. please pick ross, please pick ross, please pick ross… come on, he’s her lobster!
