child abuse

today at work i was confronted with the most intolerable insolence… from a pre-teen. it’s times like this when i start to rant about the way people parent their offspring or don’t parent them, as the case may be. so here goes:

i’m so tired of hearing snappy remarks from kids birthed circa 1987. not that i get them a lot, but over my years as a self-proclaimed “adult” this type of occurrence is simply one too many had.

i think a good smack upside the head ought to knock some sense into the children of today. when they come out wearing their hoochie-mama tube-tops and mini-skirts telling you to “shove it” or “fuck off”, i say it’s a good time as any for some ear-pinching. and if they talk back to you, swear at you, or are just plain rude, i’ll find it completely justified if someone breaks out the old feather duster and gets to some whacking. a clothes hanger works as an acceptable social variant.

oh, i suppose i don’t really advocate child abuse in the extreme, unreasonable sense of it all, but discipline is discipline. that necessary factor in upbringing seems to be lost on today’s youth, offering them full opportunity to be unruly and cheeky with utter impunity.

on an entirely unrelated note, hockey kicks baseball’s ass. like, for sure, you hosers.
