vancouver paid a lovely tribute to my second day of school with an impromptu downpour this afternoon. which is exactly what my day consisted of: sudden showers of gloom and pessimism. i always have a sense of foreboding before every school year and, this year being my final year as an undergraduate (provided all goes according to plan), it’s even worse this time around. i can feel it in my calcium-deficient bones.
on the up-side, i have a course where i get to re-read harry potter and the goblet of fire, anne of green gables, and the hobbit — along with watching movie clips from the respective film adaptations. i also get to re-read anita rau badami’s the hero’s walk, one of my favourite books so far from assigned class readings.
aside from the icky school stuff, television awaits. the season premieres of smallville, america’s next top model, and csi are coming up. with great academic responsibility, come great ways to avoid it.
