there’s a girl in my french literature class who actually uses the french word for “like” (comme) when she speaks; she sprinkles it throughout her french dialogue and it’s the oddest thing.
je pense, comme, que le narrateur est, comme, antisocial. il ne veut pas, comme, parler avec d’autres. en plus, il, comme, les insulte, comme, tout le temps!you’d think that when learning a new language, you would be able to get rid of the annoying nuances of your native one. apparently not. apparently “valley girl” speak doesn’t get lost in translation.
